This general entry course offers students a wide range of science subjects to study during their first year. In later years, students can specialise in subject areas which interest them. There are several programmes in the UCD Science faculty which are not accessible through DN200.
Note: the laboratory science subject requirement will be HD3/OB3 and Applied Mathematics may be presented instead of a laboratory science subject.

Angie O'Keefe is working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff in HP.  Her primary Degree is a BSc in Chemistry, studied in UCD. She then transitioned to Trinity to do a PhD in Electrochemistry.  She has had the opportunity to work as part of a new product development team and spent several months in the US working with the development teams in HP.

Brian is an Entrepreneur who setup his own business from ideas he encountered as a PHD student in UCD. After completing a general Science degree in UCD, he chose to pursue a PHD within the Chemistry dept, with aspirations for a career in the Pharma Chemical sector. His company, Celtic Catalysts, currently employs 17 staff and provides the Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical industries with pioneering chemistry for asymmetric synthesis.
