Naturalist?
Naturalist
Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalists interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.

Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals. Naturalists like solving problems with solutions that show some sensitivity to the environmental impact of what they do. They like to see practical results, and prefer action to talking and discussing.

Summary... header image

If you are a thinker, a problem solver and fascinated by challenging questions, a degree in Philosophy may be for you.

Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, truth, justice, beauty, validity, mind, and language. Students are introduced to the ideas of the ancient and modern philosophers who have helped to shape western culture.

The BA degree in UCD (DN500) may be taken as a Joint Honours or a Single Honours Degree. Joint Honours' students take two subjects to degree level (and indicate their two chosen subjects on their CAO form). Single Honours' students take one subject to degree level. In First Year of both programmes students also study an additional subject which they can drop at the end of the academic year. While Philosophy is taken as part of a Joint Honours Degree, students (after first year) may choose to pursue it as a Single Honours.
