Manufacturing and industrial engineering involves the maintenance of the machines used to manufacture goods; and ensuring that they are produced to a high standard.

The first two years emphasise the analytical sciences, and fundamental systems and process engineering. In year 3, the emphasis shifts to more applied systems and process engineering. There is an industrial placement period of eight months during year 3. A major project in the field of systems engineering and operations management is undertaken.
