Archaeology involves documenting the physical remains of ancient civilisations, and interpreting them to gain an understanding of human cultures, the factors that influence them, and their development over time.

Geology is the study of the Earth: its composition and the processes that shape its surface and interior, for example global warming, earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides.
