Biopharmaceutical science involves the creation of medical drugs by artificially growing some or all of their components.

Leaving Certificate biology is not required.

Graduates are prepared for employment in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and food industries, and in the area of quality control over raw materials, processing and finished products. There is no need to have studied Biology at Leaving Certificate level, as the fundamentals of all Science subjects are delivered in Year 1.
