This new four year dual degree programme consists of two degrees: the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and the Maitrise. Students who successfully complete this programme will be awarded the BCL degree from UCD and a French law degree, the Maitrise, from the University of Pantheon Assas (Paris II). First two year spent in Ireland, second year spent in France. This degree will give the same exemptions as the standard BCL in Ireland and the standard Law Maitrise in France.

BCL/Maîtrise graduates can progress to professional legal training in Ireland or France. With fluency in the French language and a detailed knowledge of the French legal system, graduates of this programme are ideally prepared for careers as lawyers/linguists in Europe.
