Social work is a profession that is primarily concerned with supporting and helping people in a variety of situations and settings. It is also about working in solidarity with socially excluded people helping them meet the challenges that their social exclusion creates.
This course is for mature students only; students who are aged 23 or over on first of January on the year of application.
In the second year, students will undertake a student visit (minimum of one week) outside Ireland. In each of the third and fourth years, students will undertake a 14-week practice placement.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is a full-time four-year undergraduate degree programme in social work which integrates university-based and agency-based learning.
Successful completion of the programme leads to an academic qualification (BSW) and will make you eligible to apply to be registered as a social worker with regulatory bodies in Ireland and internationally.
The BSW is a course approved by the Health and Social Care Professional Council (CORU) (Formerly NSWQB) as a social work training course.
