This course is designed to produce skilled teachers in physics and chemistry with a good knowledge of biology, maths and IT. Students are eligible for direct entry into the teaching profession. Practical teacher training experience takes place from the first year, and continues throughout the course.
After fist year you can specialise in any two subjects from Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. A quarter of the course is devoted to education, particularly science education with additional courses in biology and IT.

Career in second level teaching, graduates will have a comprehensive knowledge of one of the Science subjects, an in -depth knowledge of a second science subject, and a solid foundation in Mathematics, Biology and IT. You will be qualified to teach your two speciality subjects to honours Leaving Certificate level.
