Electronic engineering, like electrical engineering, is concerned with electrical systems. However, electronic engineering is more concerned with light current systems, where electricity is used as a carrier of information, such as in computers, televisions, mp3 players, etc.
Mechanical engineering is concerned with the design, maintenance and development of machines and equipment, ranging from jet engines to minute instruments used in medicine and surgery.
This course provides a basic knowledge of the mechanical and electronic engineering techniques used in the manufacturing industry. In the third year, the focus is directed to integrating these techniques with computer controls. There is a work placement and project in the third year.
