As a student, you will explore the legal relationships that pervade our society, affecting individuals, families, corporations and the State. You will acquire a thorough grounding in the fundamental areas of legal study, including Irish domestic law, the Irish legal system and European law.The study of Law develops your facility for argument and reasoning, for clear thinking and for the analysis of complicated ideas. You will also gain the ability to express complex issues clearly in oral and written forms. Knowledge of Law is also a useful complement to other areas of study, giving an added insight into economics, history and politics, among other areas.

This degree is primarily designed to prepare students for entry to professional legal study. Students will be in a position to sit professional legal examinations on graduation. The written and oral skills that Law graduates acquire are also in demand in the public and private sectors in Ireland, as well as in European institutions.
