Law is the system of rules which governs society; practitioners of law are trained to analyse, interpret, and apply it. There are laws which apply to almost every aspect of life; including business and trade regulations, criminal activity, family disputes, property development, and European law.
This programme aims to provide a broad training in the management of law offices, and to produce legal executives, solicitors assistants and law clerks suited to the needs of solicitors.
Careers or Further Progression...
Graduates are at present employed in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Banks and in Solicitors' offices throughout the Republic of Ireland. Graduates can enter the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Law (Level 8) at LYIT or to other Institutes and Universities within Ireland
To become a legal professional, it is normal to pass examinations set by the Law Society of Ireland, and serve an apprenticeship for an additional two years.
