Civil engineering includes the planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of structures, and altering geography to suit human needs. This may include the construction of railroads, dams, bridges, tunnels, or buildings.

This course covers topics such as construction methods, maths and computing, land surveying, administration and quantities, soil mechanics, structural engineering. There is a continuous assessment of reports, drawings and projects, in addition to mid and end of year examinations. The course is made up of lectures tutorials, lab, and field work.

Leads to work assisting the Civil Engineer in the planning, testing, design and construction of reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures. These include bridges, motorways, railways, airports, harbours, commercial and industrial buildings as well as facilities for the treatment and distribution of water and waste.
