The aim of course in philosophy is to allow students to develop the ability to reason lucidly, express views clearly and support claims coherently. They are introduced to the ideas of the ancient and modern philosophers who have helped to shape western culture.
This subject may to taken along with one other subject from the College TR001 list. Both subjects are normally studied for three years and one subject only is studied in the fourth year.
