blank Course Summary... blank

Environmental science involves the study of how our environment functions and how peoples behaviour can change this functioning (for example through pollution and habitat destruction).

This course is a combination of the traditional science subjects and health science, which involves the study of environmental biotechnology, health, chemistry and, physics.

Students specialise in one of these areas in years 3 and 4. There is an industrial placement during year 3.

blank Careers or Further Progression... blank

Graduates will have many opportunities, both at home and abroad. Environmental Sciences is a rapidly growing area, offering careers in waste management, pollution control, environmental monitoring or health and safety, to name but a few. You could also find yourself working for a local authority, an NGO, the Environmental Protection Agency, or an environmental consultancy.
