If considering a job in this field I think its best to have a therapy background or a caring background. Be prepared to work hard, it takes alot of effort to help create the perfect environment for others to relax in. Work well with others and help your collegues it makes for a friendly workplace and you never know when you will need their assistance. An interest in sales and marketing would also be avantageous, as you must be competitive with other spa's offerings.

Enterprising 
Enterprising people like situations that involve using resources for personal or corporate economic gain. Such people may have an opportunistic frame of mind, and like commerce, trade and making deals. Some are drawn to sales and marketing occupations. Many will eventually end up owning their own business, or managing a section in larger organisations. They tend to be very goal-oriented, and work best when focused on a target. Some have an entrepreneurial inclination.

Description...
This is a one year full-time Diploma course. The course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the Travel and Tourism Industry. Students will also gain a broad understanding of Travel Agency and Airline Operations. The Diploma element of the course Air Fares and Ticketing, is run in partnership with the International Airport Transport Association (IATA).

The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to work in a variety of tourism related businesses, using specialised and creative skills to identify and develop entrepreneurial opportunities or to progress to further or higher education and training.

Aviation security & Health & Safety Procedures
Personal Presentation/ Interview Techniques

 

Important: Almost all PLC courses have a Work Experience module, which requires students to find their own placement in an area directly related to their course.
