Compliance Manager

  Sarah Jane Higgins
I took a very indirect route into this role as it was vital that I understood all aspects of the business in order to perform the tasks and responsibilities required of me. I would therefore advise anyone who is looking to get into the area of compliance to study a law related course and then apply for a management position in any area of the business, as companies tend to value experience within the business as opposed to you coming straight out of college. I had no idea when I joined the Sales department that I would be given the opportunity to use my degree so you never know what opportunities may present themselves.

Enterprising people like situations that involve using resources for personal or corporate economic gain. Such people may have an opportunistic frame of mind, and like commerce, trade and making deals. Some are drawn to sales and marketing occupations. Many will eventually end up owning their own business, or managing a section in larger organisations. They tend to be very goal-oriented, and work best when focused on a target. Some have an entrepreneurial inclination.
