I actually didn’t study Accountancy in Secondary School. I wanted to do a broad range of subjects and so chose Biology and Business. I was also advised that Accountancy would be easy enough to pick up at third level. It was useful however to have studied Accountancy and Taxation in college.
I would definitely recommend doing the International Commerce degree as it gives you the opportunity to spend a year at college abroad and to become fluent in a language.
