Honour degree in Montessori now offered in CIT

CIT, in partnership with Cork College of Commerce, is offering a new BA (Honours) in Montessori Education from September 2012. CIT is the first Irish third-level college outside of Dublin to offer students an opportunity to study for an honours degree in Montessori Education.

The new course has been jointly developed by staff in CIT’s School of Humanities and staff in the Childcare Department in the Cork College of Commerce.  Speaking at the launch of the new Degree, Cork College of Commerce Principal Ms Helen Ryan said, “The Cork College of Commerce is committed to protecting and preserving the integrity of Montessori qualifications available to students in the Munster area by forging links with Cork Institute of Technology which can facilitate this.”

Also speaking at the launch, Dr Margaret Linehan, Head, School of Humanities, CIT, said, “We are delighted to offer students an opportunity to study for an honours degree in Montessori Education.  Up to now, students from the greater Munster area wishing to pursue an honours degree in Montessori Education would have to undertake studies in Dublin or England."

Applications for the course, which has 40 places, are being accepted until Fri the 3rd of August.

Administrative people are interested in work that offers security and a sense of being part of a larger process. They may be at their best operating under supervisors who give clear guidelines, and performing routine tasks in a methodical and reliable way.

They tend to enjoy clerical and most forms of office work, where they perform essential administrative duties. They often form the backbone of large and small organisations alike. They may enjoy being in charge of office filing systems, and using computers and other office equipment to keep things running smoothly. They usually like routine work hours and prefer comfortable indoor workplaces.
