Information on how to find jobs

SouthWestern announces 100 new jobs in Cork

Monday, July 26, 2010

SouthWestern announces 100 new jobs in CorkSome 100 new jobs will be created by Cork firm SouthWestern, after it was awarded a new contract.

The Clonakilty-based business services company, which already employs 450 people at its Cork location, won a Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food tender for the processing of bovine farm-to-farm movements and on-farm death notifications.

Brendan Smith, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, congratulated the firm and said that SouthWestern's association with the department is an example of an effective public private partnership.

The company's chief executive Jim Costello added that SouthWestern's model had a potential to work in other parts of the economy.

Mr Costello said: "We take on the operation of tech-based administrative services for businesses in the private and public sectors.

"It means lower costs and improved performance for those businesses and it’s a model that has great potential in other parts of the economy."

Earlier this year, the firm won a contract to supply reservation services to Poland's largest hotel network.ADNFCR-2470-ID-19906490-ADNFCR
