Being a self-employed artist is probably the most difficult job really. You need to be highly motivated in the tasks you set for yourself. You need to be able to work on your inspirations and be totally focused on your targets. If your painting does not work first time you need to be able to learn from your experience and use what worked in another piece. Your ability to have confidence in your journey exploring your choice of subjects in paint is important. As regards doing workshops, bringing fun into the entire effort is the most important element to achieve. Your audiences will learn in a more sustainable way and produce drawings to be proud of.

Enterprising people like situations that involve using resources for personal or corporate economic gain. Such people may have an opportunistic frame of mind, and like commerce, trade and making deals. Some are drawn to sales and marketing occupations. Many will eventually end up owning their own business, or managing a section in larger organisations. They tend to be very goal-oriented, and work best when focused on a target. Some have an entrepreneurial inclination.

To build on its success in the country, Guidewire anticipates hiring 60-80 new staff in 2015/2016 at its base in Blanchardstown.

Recruitment activity is underway to fill the newly created positions. Current available roles include:

  • Software Engineers/Developers

  • Product Managers
  • Technical Consultants
  • Graduate Developers

Full details of current vacancies for the Dublin operation are available here.

Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer of Guidewire Software commented “We have been very pleased with the quality of talent and output from our Dublin office, and I regard our decision to start operations in Ireland as one of the best we have made in the last several years. We intend to build on that success with a significant increase in our hiring plans and a deeper integration of our Dublin-based personnel into the career progression opportunities of the company, especially in Europe.”

Already employing more than 150 people at its Global Services and Development Centre in Dublin, this expansion will position Guidewire Software Ireland as the largest office outside of the U.S., where the company is headquartered. The additional staff will provide consultancy support and product development resources to some of Guidewire’s 180 customers around the world.

Today’s jobs announcement by Guidewire Software is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland, the Government agency responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland.

There are two components to the Development Centre and Global Services in Dublin: the European Development Centre (EDC) and the Guidewire Services Centre (GSC). Product Development has been a significant factor in the growth of the EDC this year, where its highly-skilled technical team is developing product extensions, accelerators, mobile applications and web portals.
