I would advise any college student considering a career in tax to undertake a summer internship or placement in a firm offering tax services. I found this an excellent way to understand what a job in tax would actually involve. Researching careers in tax online also shows the endless and exciting opportunities that a tax qualification can offer. I have found the more I have learned about tax, the more I understand how varied roles in tax can be.

Creative?
Creative
Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be drawn towards the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

50 New Jobs with Grant Engineering

Offaly-based Grant Engineering is to create 50 new jobs as part of a new €7 million expansion at its manufacturing facility in Birr.

The expansion includes a new innovation centre, a customer services unit and a training school.

The new jobs will include operative and engineering roles. Both full and part-time positions will be available.

Building works is set to commence in the coming months with completion of the investment programme over the next two years, the firm said.

Grant Engineering, which is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of domestic oil-fired boilers in the country, employs over 320 people in Ireland and 70 in the UK during peak season.

“Over the past recent years we have continued to grow our business and this investment will allow us to continue to increase capacity and expand into new markets and to develop new products. It also reinforces our commitment to innovation, the local community and the local economy,” said founder Stephen Grant.
