Firstly it is very important that you get a third level education as this is a requirement in most hotels for a job in sales. This is the most important step in working in hotel sales. You should gain as much experience within the industry which I found very beneficial.

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

CAO Late Applications and New Courses

The CAO is open for Late applications from the 5th March 2016.

Late Applications are any applications which are received after the standard CAO closing date  (5:15pm on 1st February 2016). Late applications will be accepted up to 5:15pm on 1st May 2016 (subject to certain restrictions listed on page 3 of the CAO handbook). A fee of €50.00 applies.

New Courses

New courses which are not in the CAO Handbook are sometimes offered by colleges. These are open to late applications from the 5th March and can also be added via the CAO Change of Mind process, which is open from the 5th May. It is worth keeping an eye on new courses in case something of particular interest to you is added.

Go to NEW Courses for 2016 entry.

For example, the new Level 8 course LM103 Bachelor of Paramedic Studies has just gone live on the CAO application system. This programme is open to all those with an interest in patient care in the Pre-Hospital Field. It has a highly innovative curriculum which offers students the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and competencies required for a career in professional ambulance services.

Note: Applicants for the course must also have a full, clean B and C1 driving license.
