The importance of companies internationalising at an early stage has never been greater and Ireland provides a great environment in which to do this. Ireland has built a strong reputation as an international hub for a variety of business sectors and hosts the top ten born on the internet companies including Twitter, Google, eBay/PayPal and Facebook. IDA Ireland’s strategy Horizon 2020, identifies winning investment from emerging sectors as one of its key targets and it is encouraging to see that since the start of 2012 alone, 40 emerging-stage companies have decided to set up FDI operations in Ireland.’
