What aspects of your education have proven most important for your job?
I studied business in school and I really enjoyed it. The course I completed in college covered a lot of the different aspects of business management.
Have you undertaken, or do you plan to undertake any further training as part of your job?
When I started with Lidl I had regular training in all aspects of running a store. These training sessions were run by the Training Manager and usually took place once a week for three to four hours at a time. They were held either in a store or in the Regional Distribution Centre.
Over the course of my career with Lidl I have also completed a week long course to become an Instructor in manual handling and health and safety.
Lidl regularly holds training sessions for store managers. Last October all store managers from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland attended a National Training Conference in Dublin. This was a great opportunity to meet other managers and share our experience and knowledge.
What is your education to date?
I went to school in CBS Secondary School in Tralee and went to Tralee IT where I studied Computing and Enterprise Studies.
