What subjects did you take in school and how have these influenced your career path?
The subjects that I thought would affect my career path were science subjects which in hindsight were not appropriate for my chosen career but I am glad that I did them as there was a lot of transferable skills. I do regret not having some business or accounting knowledge for this course as it is clear when taking these modules now that previous knowledge would have made them a lot easier to understand.
What is your education to date?
I have a Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies, my Leaving Certificate and my Junior Certificate.
What aspects of your education have proven most important for your job?
When I was studying for my Higher Certificate I did a module in Laboratory studies which allowed me to improve my analytical and organising skills.
Have you undertaken, or do you plan to undertake any further training as part of your job?
Yes I would like to constantly upskill as I think it is very important to keep ahead in your career. A few courses that would interest me would be a first aid course and a higher degree in business.
