Investigative

The Investigative person will usually find a particular area of science to be of interest. They are inclined toward intellectual and analytical activities and enjoy observation and theory. They may prefer thought to action, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems with sophiscticated technology. These types prefer mentally stimulating environments and often pay close attention to developments in their chosen field.

Postgraduate Funding

Finding funding is often the biggest headache for prospective postgraduates. However, grants, scholarships, bursaries and loans are all available, and it's likely that you'll need a combination of these to pay your way.

NUI Galway Scholarship

A limited number of College Scholarships are available, and are awarded for the purpose of assisting postgraduate students who are proceeding full-time to a postgraduate degree (by research) at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The holder may not simultaneously register for another course.

The Scholarships are tenable for up to four years. They are awarded in the first instance for a period of one year, but may, subject to the availability of funding, be renewed on an annual basis, provided the holder’s progress in his/her studies is satisfactory and renewal is recommended in writing by the Head of Department. Normally, a Scholarship will be tenable for up to a maximum of two years for the degree of Master, or beyond four years for the degree of PhD, or beyond three years in all.

UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School scholarships

Each year, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School offers a range of merit and financial need based schoalarships to both domestic and international students. Scholarships are awarded to exceptional students who will be ambassadors for the School during their studies and after graduation.

The Law Library Denham Fellowship

The Denham Fellowship, named after The Hon. Mrs. Justice Susan Denham, former Chief Justice, assists two aspiring barristers annually who come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to gain access to professional legal education at the King’s Inns and professional practice at the Law Library.
