8am - Hit the office early and get organised for the early morning candidate Interviews circa 30 minutes each. Soon after, back at the desk to review the Market for new opportunities and new openings with existing core clients. Consider my top candidates and explore if there might be an appetite among some of my top clients to discuss their details and potentially meet.
Call all candidates to update on the latest progress regarding their applications and any new information ensuring to share any market information assist them with general career advice as necessary. Meet another recently qualified ACA during lunchtime.
Have a sandwich ...
Time to get away from the desk now and jump in the taxi to visit my new client in order to ensure full understanding of their requirement. Get it all documented on the DB.
Back in the office now and I put on my creative hat and write a Blog, Write an eye-catching Job Advert, update my LinkedIN and develop a mailing list.
(Blood sugar low!! ... break out the 4pm snack) - On the phone again, calling all current candidates to share interview feedback and follow up calling the clients to discuss the interview performance.
Co-ordinate candidate Interview times and availability for successful 2nd and 3rd round interviews next week all the while managing timelines, expectations and sharing information.
Time for the best part and I call the successful candidate to pass on the offer from the priority client to their preferred candidate and then switch in to admin mode and record all the administrative details.
End of the day and just as I am about to relax an exciting new role is called in : Time is of the essence and so I get straight in to a Boolean search on our database and review the suitable good candidates front of my mind. Search LinkedIn and connect, Get an ad posted up quickly, record all activity through the system, headhunt / approach passive prospects and share market information with anyone I speak to.
Send out my congratulations cards to the successful accountants placed last month.
