Why did you chose to study Creative MultiMedia in LIT Clonmel?

I didn’t plan to study Creative Multimedia, Through the CAO I got a place in LIT Clonmel’s Animation course, but it didn’t run that year so I was offered a place on Creative Multimedia instead. Once I saw what modules were on offer for the course, I saw that it had a great variety of module’s I was interested in studying. I think it has worked out for the best because Creative Multimedia gave me a wider choice of career paths to take. Then being able to specialise in Motion Design in 4th year allowed me to have a stronger portfolio.

What did you do after you completed your studies?

After taking the summer off after my degree, I looked for work as a Motion Graphics designer, I interviewed with the vStream for different departments and found an ideal Internship position in Visual in the field of work I was interested in doing in vStream’s video production company, Visual.

What are you working on at the moment?

I have since completed my internship with Visual and I have since continued to work with the company.

What did your time at LIT prepare you for your working career?

I learned so much during my time in LIT from all the lecturers and the projects we were given allowed me to learn and build up my portfolio, but there is a lot to the course, not just the creative modules, it prepared us for the workplace by teaching us how to best work together as a team during many team projects and teamwork modules. Project management has also been a great help now that I’m working and the opportunity to do work placement gave me a great insight into the career path I had chosen, to test the waters to see if it was actually something I wanted to pursue before graduating.
