An essential prerequisite to a career in tax is obtaining the AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification. Due to the varied and hands on nature of the work in Taxand Ireland’s office, I have found working in tax very beneficial when preparing for the AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) exams and conversely, I have found the knowledge I have acquired as part of the AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) course has assisted me massively in my day to day work with Taxand Ireland (William Fry).

Realist?
Realist
Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

  Hint: McDonald's
In my role as Operations Consultant, but also throughout my career in McDonald’s, one of the coolest things has to be the many opportunities to travel. I love to travel and through my work I have travelled throughout Europe and various parts of the UK, Chicago, Seattle, Sydney, Dubai and numerous parts of Ireland. Some of these places I possibly would have travelled to outside of work, but it would have taken me a lifetime to do so and a very understanding bank manager or a winning lotto ticket!
