Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Iarnród Éireann looking for Overhead Line Equipment Operatives in Dublin City Centre

Iarnród Éireann is looking for a number of Overhead Line Equipment Operatives for the Dublin City Centre Re-signalling Project, a major investment programme in improving the infrastructure of the rail network in the nation's capital. A number of Overhead Line Equipment Operatives will be required for a fixed period of time to work on the project and complete these essential works.

The City Centre Re-signalling project consists of providing new signalling and telecoms infrastructure along the DART line. Iarnród Éireann invites candidates comfortable with flexible working arrangements to apply, as the role will include night and weekend working on a 24/7 pattern, as part of a 44 hours contract. Those with relevant experience such as experience working at heights of up to 10 metres, experience of following sequential critical safety procedures and experience of making adjustments to mechanical equipment are encouraged to apply.

The selection process will feature assessments and a competency-based interview. Candidates may be shortlisted based on experience and/or application/CV.
