Rathmines College Radio
Every Spring the college broadcasts RCR, Rathmines College Radio. Here the students, mostly from the media and journalism courses, get a chance to work in a real live radio station. RCR transmits a range of pre-recorded and live programming and calls on student input into programme production and presentation giving them the chance to showcase their talents.
Rathmines College has a long established and admired reputation as a centre of learning. Providing full-time education since 1902 the college has developed an excellent reputation with employers, accrediting bodies, students past and present, parents, the local community and other education institutions.
Rathmines College offers a range of courses from different Irish and internationally recognised educational and professional bodies such as QQI, BTEC, ACCA, ATI.
Taking a course here in Rathmines College is often just the first step for students. Internal progression from QQI Level 5 Awards to Advanced Certificates QQI Level 6 and BTEC Higher National Diplomas for example are a popular option and many external progression links are established and facilitated by the college. Graduates of courses can become eligible for entry to Universities and from some courses receive exemptions onto Degree programmes.
The College tracks graduate progression every year and has evidence of their fantastic record of performance. Employers have a high regard for our qualifications and our graduates. The college assists students in securing relevant employment. Work experience during courses of study also offers opportunities to gain practical experience and develop links with industry. The college has recently established an Employers Forum.
The ethos of the college focuses on the individual needs of each member of our student body. Tutors are given the role of assisting students with both academic and personal progression during their time in the college.
