Administrative people are interested in work that offers security and a sense of being part of a larger process. They may be at their most productive under supervisors who give clear guidelines and while performing routine tasks in a methodical and reliable way.

They tend to enjoy clerical and most forms of office work, where they perform essential administrative duties. They often form the backbone of large and small organisations alike. They may enjoy being in charge of office filing systems, and using computers and other office equipment to keep things running smoothly. They usually like routine work hours and prefer comfortable indoor workplaces.

The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB), along with Dublin Institute of Technology & Institute of Technology Tallaght is set to become the first Technological University which will be known as TU Dublin. Following an announcement by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on 17th July 2018, it is expected that TU Dublin will be officially designated in January 2019 and will be located on three campuses at Blanchardstown, Grangegorman and Tallaght. TU Dublin will offer a practice-based and research-informed approach to higher education, connecting students, researchers, employers and the wider community.  Students who accept an offer from ITB in the next few weeks will make history by being among its first graduates.

ITB offers a wide variety of fulltime courses including Applied Social Studies, Business, Computing, Creative Digital Media, Engineering, Horticulture, Social and Community Development, Sports Management and Early Childhood Care & Education.

We have available places in a number of Level 6 and 7 courses in Business, Computing, Engineering, and Horticulture.  The full list is available here  https://www.cao.ie/index.php?page=aboutVPL

We also currently have two Learn & Work programmes in the areas of Process Instrumentation & Automation and Computing (Networking Technologies). These courses combine training at ITB with blocks of work placements in a variety of prestigious companies.  The work experience gives students the opportunity to apply their learning, be coached by industry experts and develop the work-ready skills to gain employment upon graduation.  Applications for Learn & Work are made directly to ITB. Our open evening takes place on Wednesday September 5th from 5pm to 7pm and we welcome any new first years to attend. We would like to remind all parents/guardians of the special information session that will be hosted at the Open Evening. This will provide all the information necessary to support a young adult on their 3rd level journey in ITB. You can register at: itbinformationsession.eventbrite.com
