What are your interests?

The Social person's interests focus on interacting with the people in their environment. In all cases, the Social person enjoys the personal contact with other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.

New Programme in Digital Marketing, Public Relations and Communication

Posted on May 27, 2016

The School of Business & Humanities at DkIT is currently developing a new programme in the area of Digital Marketing, Public Relations and Communication. This exciting new Level 7 degree (with Level 8 add-on options) will build on and replace both the BBS (Hons) in Marketing and BA (Hons) in Public Relations & Online Communication.

Driven by the demand for graduates who can design and implement integrated marketing and communication campaigns for clients across a range of industries, this new programme will offer students an opportunity to study in these areas using advanced teaching and learning techniques guided by a team of lecturers with considerable experience, expertise and industry links.

“Through our existing programmes in this area of business, we have long-established links with communication and marketing organisations, and they are now looking to us to provide confident, talented graduates who are fluent in the latest marketing and communication techniques,” said Shane Hill, Head of Department at DkIT. “We are delighted to introduce a new course that will offer students a challenging and practically-focused learning experience, while preparing them for employment in very attractive marketing, PR and communication roles.”

DkIT’s new Digital Marketing, Public Relations and Communication programme features a unique semester-long, full-time work placement in the industry, and students will also work alongside real organisations as part of their coursework, enabling them to build a winning portfolio upon graduation.

The programme is currently in the validation process.

Subject to validation DkIT will be accepting applications for this programme for September 2016. Interested students should contact John Sisk (john.sisk@dkit.ie) or Paula Mullen (paula.mullen@dkit.ie) for more information.
