What are your interests?

Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.

Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals. Naturalists like solving problems with solutions that show some sensitivity to the environmental impact of what they do. They like to see practical results and prefer action to talking and discussing.

Developments of the undergraduate curriculum at Maynooth University

Posted on September 9, 2019

We have further developed the undergraduate curriculum at Maynooth University. New initiatives include more opportunities for internships as part of the Experiential Learning programme. New first year Critical Skills courses and second year Electives are also available. We have also have a new degree, MH203 BSc Biological and Geographical Sciences.

This is the study of life, from the fundamental building blocks of our genes to the largest animals that inhabit our planet; how living things work – how they interact with one another and their surroundings, and how they change and evolve. Geography is acceptable to meet the science subject minimum requirement. A new subject in Arts: Media and Cultural Studies is now available in Group 6 for students taking MH101 Arts and other related degrees. This subject covers the Media Theory modules from the Media Studies degree.

We will be at Higher Options at the RDS next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, stand number 13, speaking to any prospective students and guidance counsellors answering any questions they might have about Maynooth University. Hope to see you there!
