| Be proactive and look for the areas that interest you whether it’s the Environment or Human Rights and find MEP’s or interest groups that specialise in those interests and take the initiative to send them your CV. Having a European language would help you considerably in this career. Irish should also not be ruled out as an option as this is considered as a second language. |

Undergraduate awards typically reflect three to five years of study after secondary school and include Ordinary (Level 7) and Honours Bachelor Degrees and Higher Diplomas (Level 8's).
Undergraduate awards may be achieved directly or through a series of progression steps. Learners may choose to progress upwards from a Level 5 to a Level 6, Level 7 and finally a Level 8.
Undergraduate awards are awarded by the QQI, HEA or Higher Education Institutes.
Career Opportunities
3rd level Graduates are qualified for a wide range of occupations, and their education prepares them for roles involving specific skills, and for coordinating, supervising, managing, or training others. Examples include accountants, sales managers, computer programmers, teachers, chemists, environmental engineers, criminal investigators, and financial analysts.

This three-year honours programme is structured to enable participants to become professional, reflective practitioners with an integrated approach in early childhood education and care. Students will acquire skills in areas such as: children’s play; creative studies; psychology; pedagogy; sociology and social policy. A supervised work placement in a variety of early years settings is a key element of the programme, enabling students to learn from practice as well as theory. The design and content of the programme has been determined by the Model Framework for Education, Training and Professional Development for the Early Childhood Care and Education sector.
