| Do your best to find out the most you can about your specific engineering category, whether it be Electronics, Mechanical, Civil etc. Approach companies to try and get experience whilst you are at college, that way you have a running start on how to use the most up to date packages and instruments that companies have, and that then gets you the work experience when you finish college. | |||||

Undergraduate awards typically reflect three to five years of study after secondary school and include Ordinary (Level 7) and Honours Bachelor Degrees and Higher Diplomas (Level 8's).
Undergraduate awards may be achieved directly or through a series of progression steps. Learners may choose to progress upwards from a Level 5 to a Level 6, Level 7 and finally a Level 8.
Undergraduate awards are awarded by the QQI, HEA or Higher Education Institutes.
Career Opportunities
3rd level Graduates are qualified for a wide range of occupations, and their education prepares them for roles involving specific skills, and for coordinating, supervising, managing, or training others. Examples include accountants, sales managers, computer programmers, teachers, chemists, environmental engineers, criminal investigators, and financial analysts.

This course qualifies graduates to work in architectural and interior design firms, in junior management positions, and prepares the individual to choose self-employment after a suitable period of practical experience. This mainly studiobased course is taught through formal lectures and tutorials. It has a significant amount of time allocated to studio and project work. There is a high technical input, supplementing the design drawing and presentation content.
