This degree will give you all the essentials of computing and you will then get the opportunity to specialise in your final year. Degree award options include: Software Development, Gaming and Multimedia, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Internet of Things
Students will learn how to create software applications on mobile devices, in the cloud, on the web and in gaming using the latest technologies, understand how to incorporate multimedia into software applications, analyse and interpret data to address real business problem and understand the cloud computing paradigm and its implications for software, infrastructure and platforms.
The course includes a six month work placement in the third year.

The Investigative person will usually find a particular area of science to be of interest. They are inclined toward intellectual and analytical activities and enjoy observation and theory. They may prefer thought to action, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems with sophiscticated technology. These types prefer mentally stimulating environments and often pay close attention to developments in their chosen field.
On completion of the BSc (Hons) in Computing, graduates can join hightech multinationals, tech start-ups, financial services and consultancy organisations. Graduates have worked in organisations like Microsoft, Lionbridge, Hewlett Packard, KPMG, Tapadoo, Realex Payments, Opennet, Leaseplan, Arvato, Salesforce, Facebook and Vivendi Games.
Typical roles include software developer, mobile application developer, IT support, project engineer and games developer. This course is also suitable for those who ultimately wish to pursue a career in teaching as it is recognised by the Teaching Council to teach computing.
