Be prepared for responsibility and the rewards and problems that come with responsibility. It is very important to be comfortable making decisions and living with them. While it is impossible to be right all of the time the majority of decisions you make have to be correct.

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS?

Realist? 		Realist
Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Course Description

This course is aimed at learners who are interested in the special needs area of early years care and education. Learners will be provided with the basic practical skills and underpinning knowledge, including Solta and Aistear, to fulfil the role of Special Needs Assistant in schools, crches, playgroups etc. The course also fosters communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children. Work Experience within a variety of Early Childhood Care and Education situations forms an integral part of the course.
