Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

There is no typical day in our job. I would try to plan one day a week to do administration work but even that can be disrupted by more important matters. And then every day has it's charm by being unpredictable. At the end of the day the results achieved are a reward for the team and satisfaction for me.

The educational structure in Romania is different to here, so we were studying everything up to University. I then decided to go for a career in management. I made the best choice!

What is your education to date?

All my studies were in Romania from primary school until finishing with the Diploma in Management in Commerce and Tourism. In total I studied 16 years which included all subjects and also 12 years in French.

After that I have taken courses as part of McDonald's Management Development Programme, the most recent one was in Situational Leadership which has enhanced my management skills.
