Linguistic

The Linguistic's interests are usually focused on ideas and information exchange. They tend to like reading a lot, and enjoy discussion about what has been said. Some will want to write about their own ideas and may follow a path towards journalism, story writing or editing. Others will develop skills in other languages, perhaps finding work as a translator or interpreter. Most Linguistic types will enjoy the opportunity to teach or instruct people in a topic they are interested in.

Most people entering the sustainable energy sector are qualified up to 3rd level and come either from directly related couses or from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) based backgrounds.

Most people entering the sustainable energy sector are qualified up to 3rd level and come either from directly related courses or from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) based backgrounds.

Sustainable energy academic fellowship awards are available to PhD level through the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (www.ircset.ie)

What advice do you have for career changers?

It is anticipated that future opportunities will be available for personnel proficient in additional ICT related skills.

Through the Springboard Initiative, a number of institutions in both the public and private sector offer programmes leading to qualifications that are in demand among employers, ranging from Certificates in Digital Marketing and in Supply Chain Management to Masters in Energy Management.
