Approximately 41,100 persons were employed in the Security & Law Enforcement occupations, including security guards, gardai and other protective service occupations.

Between 2013 and 2018, overall employment in legal and security occupations increased by 1000 (0.4%) on average annually (compared to 3.1% nationally). The strongest rate of employment growth was observed for security guards (2.2%) during the period.
