Naturalist

Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.

Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals. Naturalists like solving problems with solutions that show some sensitivity to the environmental impact of what they do. They like to see practical results and prefer action to talking and discussing.

Judges

Judges

Judges perform different functions depending on the country and legal system they operate in, they may even be appointed in different ways.

For example, in certain parts of the United States they are elected by popular vote. This can mean that some of the specifics of how judges and courts operate in Ireland can be missed, as many people have gathered knowledge of courts from non-Irish media.

Every Judge will have served as a barrister or solicitor for at least ten years before being appointed. Generally those who have been appointed by the government will have many more years’ experience than this minimum requirement.

The exact role of judges depends on whether the trial is a jury or non-jury trial. In non-jury trials, the judge will be the ultimate arbiter of who wins or loses. In a jury trial, they will take on this role. The judge will still provide the very important role of guiding the jury and overseeing the trial, ensuring it proceeds correctly.
