The work of graphic designers has become important as society becomes increasingly visual, with people consuming information in quick bitee online and in print. They create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.

Good graphic design helps convey information quickly, catching people’s attention and delivering a message or simply emphasising a brand or product. 

As a result, we are surrounded by graphic design. Billboards, web advertisements, magazine layouts, animated videos and movie posters are all common examples of graphic design.

As social media increases the importance of an organisation's brand, they have turned to graphic designers to create a compelling and attractive logos and social media content. These trends are creating sustainable demand for graphic designers in a variety of industries.

In the field of graphic design it is important to be to be commercially aware; particularly those who choose to operate on a freelance basis. They must know how to attract an audience, how to get a message across, and how to communicate visually, by keeping up with current styles/trends and new design techniques.
