Maths and Your Career

How can maths help you get a job? Many career paths demand numeracy, and if you want to work in areas such as tech, finance, insurance or engineering then a certain level of maths will be demanded.

Often courses training you for jobs in this area will come with training in relevant mathematical fields and may have specific requirements for the level achieved in maths before undertaking the course.

People with advanced mathematics training will use mathematical formulae, computational techniques and algorithms to solve engineering, economic, scientific and business problems.

But the importance of the field isn’t restricted to just those with advanced knowledge. Competency with maths will help your problem-solving abilities, assist you in thinking on your feet in complex situations and develop your analytical abilities by helping you think through complex logical problems.
