Film and Documentary - Advanced - 6M5130
Students who complete this course will be employable in the rapidly developing Media Industry in Ireland and abroad. In particular, students will be given an understanding of the various aspects of media production and develop the dynamic skillset required for professionals in the media sector. Students will be afforded the opportunity to showcase their work throughout the year on various media projects. These include GTI's TV website (www.claddtv.ie), GTI's online newspaper (GTI Gazette) and GTI's radio station.
Music Performance and Production - 5M2011
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the professional music industry. The students will gain knowledge of music theory and its practical application to musical styles and genres. Students explore the structure of the music industry in addition to gaining practical skills in recording and producing music in a modern production environment. Students also learn how to plan and organise events as part of the course. Throughout the year, students work on assigned projects proving their competence in a number of practical skill demonstrations. Throughout the year there is class room support for theoretical aspects of the programme. At the end of the year, written examinations are completed in certain subjects.
Studio & Live Sound Production - 5M2149
This course provides learners with the technical skills required to work in Sound Production. Throughout the year students will participate in applied learning projects where they explore various roles associated with the modern audio engineer. These include traditional Studio Recording, Radio production, Live Sound Engineering and Electronic Music Production. In addition to this learners will also be introduced to digital media and computer systems related to sound production.
