We operate five McDonald's Restaurants in the Dublin West region and employ 200 people in the various restaurants. Our restaurants open for breakfast seven days a week and deliver high standards of service throughout each day. We employ people of all age groups and promote a excellent team spirit within each restaurant.
We have a thorough training modules which begin with Health and Safety, Hygiene and progress to each area of restaurant operations.
At McDonald's we will introduce you to a range of activities that are typical of any small business. You will be under the supervision of a 'Buddy', who is a capable crew member/trainer who will ensure that you get a realistic insight into the world of employment. You will have an opportunity to be part of the restaurant team, develop work-related skills, gain confidence and learn from your experiences. Alongside this, you will have the chance to learn more about yourself and to develop the necessary employability skills to prepare yourself for the future.
Your time will be divided across four main areas:
Business Management & Human Resources
You will be introduced to a number of key business processes, including the restaurant scheduling system and stock management and control. You will be shown how the business is managed behind the scenes and introduced to the staff that keep the business running as well as how we operate best practice award winning employee engagement programmes.
At the center of all McDonald's restaurants are the kitchen services. Here you will be introduced to Food Safety procedures and processes. You will also be shown how to prepare many of the popular menu items, and experience first-hand, the infamous McDonald’s system.
Kitchens are busy places and the highest standard of hygiene is required. You will be shown the procedures used to maintain them to the highest international standards. The operation and maintenance of our equipment and machinery will be demonstrated, as well as our progressive environmental initiatives
Front Counter & Customer Service
Front counter operations take place between the kitchen and the customer. You will be shown how orders are taken and managed, and how they are collected and assembled for customers. You will also be shown how the Drive-Thru operation works and will participate in many of the various activities involved. Customer Service is paramount in McDonald’s and you will learn some key principles of our customer service.
The dining area is where customers enjoy their food and chat with friends. You will learn how McDonald's keep this area clean and tidy, respond effectively to customer requests and assist with customer needs.
A placement with McDonald's involves lots of variety and working with a diverse fun team. We encourage all our placement students to take part in as many activities as possible, and believe there is excellent learning experience for everyone.
